    Thanks, Dave, for kicking this off and getting additional ideas and resources into our heads and at our fingertips. I have been interested in this topic since graduate school in the late 1980s and early 1990s, when I earned my Master's degree in Geography by collecting agricultural statistics for all of the principios (basically counties) in Mexico and comparing them against LANDSAT imagery... The changes to the Mexican landscape since 1930 were eye-opening, and I became quite aware of the human dimension of global environmental change. We need to remain aware of our ecological footprint.
