REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportA round-trip flight from New York City to Los Angeles emits just over 1 ton of CO2. Imagine a giant balloon with a diameter of 10 yards. If this balloon were filled with CO2, it would weigh about 1 ton. This flight would fill just about one of these balloons. What can you do to reduce the number of flights you take per year?

REFLECTION QUESTIONMaterialsHow could you incorporate other "R's" -- reduce, reuse, refuse, repair, repurpose, etc. -- into your lifestyle?
Clinton Fox 4/16/2018 12:35 PMMy next trip to the electronics recycler is going to feel something like the image below. I'm just excited about donating/recycling my older tech that I have already repurposed a few times over the years. Crossing my fingers that over 1/2 of what I'm donating will still have another life before it is officially recycled properly!-

REFLECTION QUESTIONFoodHad you heard of the term silvopasture" before now? After learning more about it, what do you think is the biggest advantage of silvopasture?
-
REFLECTION QUESTIONFoodWhat did you find out? What is the most interesting fact you learned?
Clinton Fox 4/12/2018 1:44 PMCarbon aside, the advantages of silvopasture are considerable, with financial benefits for farmers and ranchers. Livestock, trees, and any additional forestry products, such as nuts, fruit, and mushrooms, generate income on different time horizons. The health and productivity of both animals and the land improve. Because silvopasture systems are diversely productive and more resilient, farmers are better insulated from risk.
