I’ve realized I don’t know as much as I thought I did on how to live sustainably, I hope kids today aren’t being taught this stuff in school!

That almost 250 gigatons of co2 could be reduced by 2050 ( I didn’t even know gigatons was a thing, that’s HUGE!)
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Electricity Generation
Geothermal energy is reliable, abundant, and efficient. Project Drawdown states that public investment will play a crucial role in its expansion. What kind of investment seems most feasible for you?

How do you address your own feelings of concern, fear or despair about climate change?

    Sara Garber's avatar
    Sara Garber 4/25/2018 9:18 AM
I remind myself that even the smallest things can help reduce climate change, and continue to educate those around me the same thing.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

What concerns you the most about how we are affecting the planet? Consider both local and global actions.

Global warming and how the world is rapidly dying.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

How do your transportation choices affect your engagement in your community? Does your experience differ while walking, riding transit, biking or driving?

    Sara Garber's avatar
    Sara Garber 4/25/2018 9:12 AM
Driving is definitely the most stressful option so I enjoy alternate modes of transportation. The train and biking, allow you to focus more on your surroundings and appreciate them, instead of constantly being caught on a highway or in a traffic jam.

I didn’t know growing rice was so problematic. I think it’s interesting how we can improve cropping.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food
Now that you know the difference between use by, sell by, and best by dates, how will you view expiration dates differently?

    Sara Garber's avatar
    Sara Garber 4/24/2018 7:22 PM
I typically just do the smell/mold test so it’s good to know that we can still eat most items after the date listed.
