Family planning is a form of population control and reduces the number of resources that will rapidly be consumed during one's life.

I would like to try to convince my family to at least consider using solar energy. I would like to take more steps towards recycling and reducing waste as well.

I learnt that this is a viable option for many parts of the world, however it is a more expensive than others.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Electricity Generation
What inspires you to act on sustainable energy and other energy issues?

I hate the current state that parts of our world are in right now and I want to find and act on ways to help. By coming up with more ways to reduce our waste and our effects on the planet, there is a brighter future, and we are one of the last generations that will be able to save it.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Electricity Generation
How does advocating for this type of technology connect to your values? How might you be able to get others involved in advocating for the shift to clean energy?

    Lauren Gray's avatar
    Lauren Gray 4/25/2018 7:31 PM
This connects to my values because I absolutely want to help our planet in any way that I can. I think that others would be more eager to get involved in solar energy if they new that it could save them a lot of money in the long run and is so much better for our planet!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food
Producing uneaten food squanders many resources—seeds, water, energy, land, fertilizer, hours of labor, financial capital. Which of these motivates you the most to change your behavior regarding food waste?

    Lauren Gray 4/25/2018 7:30 PM
I definitely don't want my wasted food to harm new plants and water. That just doesn't seem right! I will absolutely try to curb my waste and my more aware of what I'm eating and how much of it I'm throwing away.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

How can you take your commitment to sustainable living beyond yourself? How can you, personally, work toward broader change?

I can create more programs and more opportunities for people to participate in, like recycling programs, campaigns, and volunteering with activities at local schools teaching kids about climate change and its effects. People like things that are easy, and if there are little easier ways that they can help our planet, I think that they will take advantage of them.
