REFLECTION QUESTIONElectricity GenerationWhat inspires you to act on sustainable energy and other energy issues?
Claire Haase 4/24/2018 3:52 PMbecause they way we are going is not sustainable. If we keep using fossil fuels at the rate we are we will all be dead. We need to think about the future not just of us, but our kids too. Even if we all did a small act like writing your elected officals it would add up. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONLand UseHow is your diet currently impacting deforestation? What can you do to decrease your negative impact and increase your positive impact?
Claire Haase 4/23/2018 4:33 PMi learned that a lot of the food i eat is made by mono cropping. that means that to get this much land people would have to tear down many acers of tree. things i could do is buy locally and support local farmers and business. i also could try and cut foods like vegtable oil out of my diet. of many people did this it would make a big change. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFoodIn North America, up to 65% of food waste happens at the consumer level. Chef Steven Satterfield advocates for utilizing every part of a vegetable. How can you incorporate using an entire vegetable, including the skins, tops, and stalks during your next meal prep?
Claire Haase 4/23/2018 4:10 PMYou can use almost eery part of a vegtable for food. for example you could use excess food as stock for a soup. as people we really need to start reducing our waste. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFoodHad you heard of the term silvopasture" before now? After learning more about it, what do you think is the biggest advantage of silvopasture?
