Becki Hack 4/25/2018 5:39 PMGood luck with remainder of year: meatless, zero waste, local... and reducing energy impact. We can do it! -
Becki Hack 4/25/2018 5:38 PMMary, For some reason couldn't respond to your post directly so will say here: try fresh garden tomatoes. World of difference in my opinion. But yes, we all have that least liked veggie. Artichoke would be mine. -
Becki Hack 4/25/2018 5:32 PMWhat have I learned? Yes, this game is a good engagement tool. Fun to see what other teams in other places are doing. Excellent idea to have learning opportunities baked into the site. And...Every action counts! -
Becki Hack 4/25/2018 5:30 PMThanks, team! We've done such a great job for s small group. Steve, thanks for being a fantastic lead-by-example captain. I'm sorry to miss your Zero Waste event tonight but so happy to have your leadership for the City of Houston's Green Building Resource Center! -
Becki Hack 4/24/2018 5:19 PMHooray for all the elected officials we have contacted. And if you have some who don't listen, don't forget May 22 is primary runoff in prep for Nov midterms. Please vote. Every vote counts for change toward a more sustainable future--The difference between DO NOTHING and that OPTIMUM Scenario mentioned in Drawdown! -
Becki Hack 4/24/2018 5:13 PMAnother area I have fallen short on my daily challenges is purchasing for women-owned businesses. The farmers market is probably the best bet for regular purchases. Or women-owned restaurants....Hmmm, maybe I should get a meatless enchilada at Sylvia's to celebrate our team?! -
Becki Hack 4/24/2018 5:10 PMKudos to our team for remaining in top 20 with such a small group! -
Becki Hack 4/24/2018 5:09 PMIf anyone is handing out scholarships, Asheville High and Lincoln High (Portland) should be top of list. Impressive performance among teams! Interesting to read some of their posts. Will McDonald's be meatless in years to come...if it exists? -
Becki Hack 4/24/2018 5:05 PMHere's s thought: LEED already gives the most points to Energy category, but maybe it should amp up points for food / food waste issues that have an enormous impact...E.g., onsite gardens and composting / biomass ... -
Becki Hack 4/24/2018 4:31 PMPlausible or optimum scenario, high-low anyone?
