REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportHow can you ensure that your virtual meetings honor your values and your company's culture?
Danielle Hogue 4/19/2018 9:41 AMVitrtual meetings should be conducted the same way as face to face meetings, with the same honesty and respect for others. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONLand UseHow difficult or easy was it to change your diet?
Danielle Hogue 4/19/2018 9:37 AMIt was easy at first to change my diet because I enjoy trying new things and eating new foods, but after the first day it became difficult to stick to it. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONElectricity GenerationWhat does your vision of a sustainable community look like? What would need to be changed in order for such vision to become reality?
Danielle Hogue 4/10/2018 5:17 PMI see a sustainable community as one that addresses economic, social and enviromental needs. In order for this to happen people need to start working together and all loving each other because this is how making a sustainable community will become a reality. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONMaterialsHow could you incorporate other "R's" -- reduce, reuse, refuse, repair, repurpose, etc. -- into your lifestyle?
Danielle Hogue 4/10/2018 5:13 PMI could try and take shorter showers, use reuseable containers rather than throw away baggies and try to reuse things I thought were useless. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFoodHow does environmental quality influence your sense of community?
Danielle Hogue 4/10/2018 5:10 PMEnviromental quality influences my sense of community by making me value the community and life in the community more, but at the same time wanting to make a difference in the community. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONMaterialsWhat single-use items (e.g. straws, coffee cups, vegetable bags, plastic bags) do you regularly use? What could be substituted instead?
Danielle Hogue 4/10/2018 12:23 PMI reguarily use plastic bags and instead of using these single use items- I could try and substitute them for reuseable containers. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONLand UseAre bamboo alternatives readily available in your community? If not, what are other sustainable alternatives?
Danielle Hogue 4/10/2018 12:22 PMYes, I have noticed that there are bamboo alternatives readily available in my community with bamboo bed sheets, bamboo serving utensils etc. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFoodAn average American throws out about 240 lbs of food per year. The average family of four spends $1,500 a year on food that they throw out. Where would you rather use this money?
Danielle Hogue 4/04/2018 6:13 PMI would rather spend that money of food that is typically thrown out on traveling the world. 1500 dollars is quite a bit of money that could allow someone to take a vacation or travel somewhere fun for a while. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONMaterialsWhat do you want to prioritize over material 'stuff' in your own life?
Danielle Hogue 4/04/2018 6:12 PMI do not want to prioritize material stuff in my life. I want to prioritize Jesus first of all above all things because he should come first. Second I want to spend quality time with those I love and care about because that is far more important than earthly things. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFoodWhat do you think contributes to people in North America eating more meat than other countries, and what does this say about North American values and ways of living? How do we start shifting a meat-focused food culture?
Danielle Hogue 4/04/2018 6:06 PMI think that the fast food infustry contributes to America contributing so much more meat then other countries. It is so easy to go grab a quick thing from McDonalds versus actually cooking a meal. And America really enjoys meats just because it is something our culture has grown up with. Shifting away from meat, we need to encourage people to try and have just one meatless day a week or one meatless meal and explain the benefits.
