REFLECTION QUESTIONWomen and GirlsWhat did you learn about the need for family planning? Share some of the learning with your friends!
Aidan Justus 4/25/2018 7:42 AMIncreased adoption of reproductive healthcare and family planning is an essential component to achieve the United Nations’ 2015 medium global population projection of 9.7 billion people by 2050. Investing in high-quality family planning will make positive impacts on the health, welfare, and life expectancy of both women and their children. Additionally, it reduces the amount out greenhouse gas emissions. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONMaterialsHow could you incorporate other "R's" -- reduce, reuse, refuse, repair, repurpose, etc. -- into your lifestyle?
Aidan Justus 4/25/2018 7:39 AMI can incorporate more "R's" into my life by reducing the amount of clothes I buy and opting to shop at thrifts shops. Each year in the U.S. alone, 25 billion pounds of textiles are produced. Shopping at thrifts shops are a great way to reuse the textiles that are already produced. Also, instead of throwing out old clothes I don't wear anymore, I can repurpose them to reduce the amount of waste. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONMaterialsWhat do you want to prioritize over material 'stuff' in your own life?
Aidan Justus 4/25/2018 7:27 AMI would like to prioritize the people around me before the material things. While material things can be useful tools that help use in our daily lives, the relationships that we build around us is what really matters. I would like to spend less time on my phone and more face-to-face time with the people I love. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWomen and GirlsWhat are the most pressing womens' and girls' issues in your community?
Aidan Justus 4/24/2018 9:21 PMOne issue I find especially pressing is the rape culture within our schools. Sexual violence and harassment is so normalized in our society that it often ends up being ignored or excused. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWomen and GirlsHow are people responding to the statistics you're sharing on social media?
Aidan Justus 4/24/2018 9:14 PMPeople are surprised by the statistics that I shared. I know that I was personally surprised to discover that women make up 2/3rds of the illiterate population.
