REFLECTION QUESTIONFoodIn North America, up to 65% of food waste happens at the consumer level. Chef Steven Satterfield advocates for utilizing every part of a vegetable. How can you incorporate using an entire vegetable, including the skins, tops, and stalks during your next meal prep?
Jackson LaSure 4/25/2018 11:11 AMDuring my meal prep I can incorporate using every part of the vegetable by not shaving any skins and including the entire vegetable in my meal. I will not cut any stems off either. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFoodAn average American throws out about 240 lbs of food per year. The average family of four spends $1,500 a year on food that they throw out. Where would you rather use this money?
Jackson LaSure 4/25/2018 9:58 AMThis money is being wasted every year and instead of wasting it I would like to start having a zero waste mind set and save money and put it towards things that my family needs money for like my sisters wedding. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportTake a moment to think of places you frequent often (work, grocery store, natural areas). Could you choose one or two days a week to schedule driving with a friend, neighbor or co-worker to these places?
Jackson LaSure 4/24/2018 10:03 AMYes I drive to biscuit head every Thursday morning and we go with a group of older kids that can drive and I could get a ride from them each time.
