REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Reduce Animal ProductsWhat do you think contributes to people in North America eating more meat than other countries, and what does this say about North American values and ways of living? How do we start shifting a meat-focused food culture?
Caitlin Manning 4/23/2018 11:45 AMAdvertising of meat products for "great source of protein" when proteins are also found in grains as well, not just meat. I think this depends on the factories who are putting it out there and the advertisements. I think it's up to large corporations to make the big impact and it's up to us individually to give less into the product as a consumer. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Smaller PortionsFun fact: Your brain and stomach register feelings of fullness after about 20 minutes of eating. While dishing food out, we tend to load our plates with more than we need. Using smaller plates helps to mitigate this. Aside from the environmental benefits, what other benefits might come out of this?
Caitlin Manning 4/23/2018 11:30 AMcooking less for your plate, which will reduce waste. And you may also find you'd lose weight as well
