REFLECTION QUESTIONLand UseHow is your diet currently impacting deforestation? What can you do to decrease your negative impact and increase your positive impact?
Avery Matthews 4/20/2018 10:13 AMI eat a lot of meat products and products with sugar so I could start eating less of that and start to base my diet off of other plant based diets. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFoodNow that you know the difference between use by, sell by, and best by dates, how will you view expiration dates differently?
Avery Matthews 4/20/2018 9:51 AMI will view them that I can buy them as long as they are not past the expiration date because I don't really care about the best by dates because I do not need my food to be perfect as long as I don't waste it. I will also try to buy the things with the newest sell by date because they are the freshest. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONElectricity GenerationGeothermal energy is reliable, abundant, and efficient. Project Drawdown states that public investment will play a crucial role in its expansion. What kind of investment seems most feasible for you?
Avery Matthews 4/20/2018 9:33 AMI learned that Geothermal Energy comes from the earth so you would want to use it near mountains so you are closer to magma in the mountains and old volcanoes. You want to take the heat from underground and use it to your advantage. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONElectricity GenerationWhat did you learn about wave and tidal energy? Were you surprised by the information you found?
Avery Matthews 4/20/2018 9:27 AMi learned that it is a clean and pollution free way to get electricity and that you get it from waves and tides in the water. I also learned that they are variable in nature so you wont always be bringing in electricity and energy. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONElectricity GenerationWhat inspires you to act on sustainable energy and other energy issues?
Avery Matthews 4/19/2018 10:10 AMThe fact that when I grow up i'm going to want to have good energy and not pay too much for energy so if I act on it now then when I grow up there will be a big change so that I will be able to use sustainable energy without it costing so much. Also if I act on it now then I wont have to worry about as many energy issues and a lot of them will be solved.
