        I imagine a sustainable community will purchase local a majority of the time. There will be very little waste because it will be diverted for composting, energy, or other uses. It will be healthier and more resilient to climate change or other disasters. There would be a large variety of occupations for the people living there, and men and women would have the same opportunities. All their energy would be sustainably generated. The land would be healthier and full of life.
It would take a lot to get there - and a lot of people with the same goal. Education is the first step. Then a lot of people working together on all the solutions in Drawdown.
