REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportHow has your access to various kinds of transporation throughout your life influenced your current attitudes about transportation and your transportation behavior?
Lee Morrissette 4/24/2018 5:10 AMBoston's public transit operates about as well as that of a broken down second world post-industrial economy. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONMaterialsWhat do you want to prioritize over material 'stuff' in your own life?
Lee Morrissette 4/24/2018 5:00 AMIn lieu of acquiring 'stuff' I prioritize the sense of freedom I get when I live free from clutter. There is less between me and the world. I am not separated from the world by a protective boundary of possessions. Plus, I save money every time I walk out of Target without buying everything I see. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFoodFun fact: Your brain and stomach register feelings of fullness after about 20 minutes of eating. While dishing food out, we tend to load our plates with more than we need. Using smaller plates helps to mitigate this. Aside from the environmental benefits, what other benefits might come out of this?
Lee Morrissette 4/24/2018 4:55 AMSmaller portions equals smaller meals equals more frequent meals equals getting to eat all day long! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFoodWhat do you think contributes to people in North America eating more meat than other countries, and what does this say about North American values and ways of living? How do we start shifting a meat-focused food culture?
Lee Morrissette 4/23/2018 5:55 AMEating more meat has always been a sign of wealth and prosperity. As a wealthy country we have access to more, so we cheaply eat more. We need to market and promote a fresh, plant-based diet as prestigious and desirable to encourage healthy eating that is sustainable.
