REFLECTION QUESTIONFoodProducing uneaten food squanders many resources—seeds, water, energy, land, fertilizer, hours of labor, financial capital. Which of these motivates you the most to change your behavior regarding food waste?
andres navarro gomez 4/21/2018 11:06 PMI didn't really start a composite bin, due that I have always had one. Since I could remember when living with my mom we would always have a separate bin where we would dump things like banana peels, apples we would be done with, bones that get left on our plate and so on. And I have kept this with me over the years. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFoodWhat do you think contributes to people in North America eating more meat than other countries, and what does this say about North American values and ways of living? How do we start shifting a meat-focused food culture?
andres navarro gomez 4/21/2018 10:45 PMI think North Americans ear more meat than other countries due to an oversupply of poultry. The big industries are just speeding up production to have a very vast income. -
andres navarro gomez 4/19/2018 10:49 PMThis week instead of buying dairy products such as milk I decided to try coconut milk which at first I did not think I would like it, but it turns out that it's delicious. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportHow can you advocate for transportation systems which minimize environmental impact while also meeting human needs?
andres navarro gomez 4/12/2018 10:20 PMToday as I was heading to school I noticed a man leaving his empty cup on the floor of the bus. This usually happens all the time, something that I truly hate. I mean TriMet is not at all bad, compared with other large cities I think we have one of the best transportation systems in the US. It really bugs me because to the front of the bus is a trash can where you only have to walk a few steps and throw it in. So once I got off the bus I picked it up and left it in the trash where it needed to go.-
Liz Zavodsky (Ecochallenge Staff) 4/14/2018 9:24 AMGood for you! That is so frustrating but so glad you put it where it belongs to pay it forward.

andres navarro gomez 4/10/2018 10:41 PMToday I decided to bike to school since my campus is conveniently close to my home, I also walked to my uncle's house which is roughly ten blocks away from my home. I usually take the bus to these places, but by using muscle-transportation I am not using any fuels to get to my destination.
