    Food
Now that you know the difference between use by, sell by, and best by dates, how will you view expiration dates differently?

While I knew sell by was aimed at consumers and knew that it wasn't an indiction of the product going bad, I always thought of it as having just a few days after, but a 1/3 of many products shelf-lives is after the labeled sell by date!
In the past, I also rarely ate food past either best-by or use-by for paranoia that it would make me sick, but this isn't the case at all. Best-by is what it sounds, and only assures peak quality, but it is perfectly safe to eat for a few days after! I now know to give food a longer shelf-life and stop wasting uneaten and almost depleted products.
