REFLECTION QUESTIONTransport Purchase a Carbon OffsetA round-trip flight from New York City to Los Angeles emits just over 1 ton of CO2. Imagine a giant balloon with a diameter of 10 yards. If this balloon were filled with CO2, it would weigh about 1 ton. This flight would fill just about one of these balloons. What can you do to reduce the number of flights you take per year?
Nicole Penick 4/09/2018 8:35 AMI have reduced the # of flights and purchased a carbon offset for both my flight to CA and for my regular car mileage per year. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONElectricity Generation Choose Renewable Energy or Purchase Renewable Energy CreditsYour utility company is able to tell you your average energy usage. Ask them how your energy usage compares to others in your zipcode, and in your state. What steps can you take each day to reduce your electricity usage?
Nicole Penick 4/09/2018 8:25 AMMy home is far higher in energy usage than those around me. I need to determine what is causing that - either the hot water heater or the refrigerator most likely. I am going to monitor my usage to determine. -
