REFLECTION QUESTIONFoodWhat do you think contributes to people in North America eating more meat than other countries, and what does this say about North American values and ways of living? How do we start shifting a meat-focused food culture?
Ava Powchak 4/24/2018 10:13 AMMy parents are vegetarians and eat meat free meals every day anyway. Me and my brother on the other hand are not. For the past month I have just been eating all the meals that my parents eat and not incorporating meat into the meals that we eat. If we go out to dinner I just dont order meat. It has been pretty simple becase my family cooks vegetarian meals anyways, I just had to take my part of not having meat in the house that has to be eaten. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONMaterialsWhat single-use items (e.g. straws, coffee cups, vegetable bags, plastic bags) do you regularly use? What could be substituted instead?
Ava Powchak 4/24/2018 10:06 AMI like to drink out of straws. I know that they are very bad for the earth and produce a lot of waste. Due to this I decided to stop purchasing them and using them at restaurants. Now I have 4 bamboo straws at my house. That is one for every family member. We can reuse them over and over again and they create no waste like plastic straws do.
