Taking smaller plates at lunch really helps!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Smaller Portions
Fun fact: Your brain and stomach register feelings of fullness after about 20 minutes of eating. While dishing food out, we tend to load our plates with more than we need. Using smaller plates helps to mitigate this. Aside from the environmental benefits, what other benefits might come out of this?

I would lose weight, feel better and waste less food.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Materials Eliminate Toxic Plastics
What single-use items (e.g. straws, coffee cups, vegetable bags, plastic bags) do you regularly use? What could be substituted instead?

I use all of these things but am trying to eliminate them by using containers that are ecofriendly and reusable.  I use my own coffee cup and am looking into reusable bags for my daughter's lunches.

I think it gives you pride in your community for being aware of what is happening in the world as far as environmental issues and doing what you can to live sustainably.  We have to take care of the world we live in.

How could you incorporate other "R's" -- reduce, reuse, refuse, repair, repurpose, etc. -- into your lifestyle?

Don't buy bottled water.  Remind my family to recycle and pay attention to products I purchase.
