What will need to change is people's attitudes about themselves, and have more respect for what we put in our bodies. We require so little to sustain ourselves, yet we can't see that. If that could change, we won't need much of the machinery out there.

REFLECTION QUESTIONElectricity GenerationWhat does your vision of a sustainable community look like? What would need to be changed in order for such vision to become reality?
Barbara Roeling 4/17/2018 9:00 AMI think that people need to eat less, and demand less of the food generating processes we use. Eating simpler, fresher would put less burden on the environment. If it takes multiple machines and 30 ingredients to make a food, like a Twinkie, we have made eating too complicated!
What will need to change is people's attitudes about themselves, and have more respect for what we put in our bodies. We require so little to sustain ourselves, yet we can't see that. If that could change, we won't need much of the machinery out there. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFoodAn average American throws out about 240 lbs of food per year. The average family of four spends $1,500 a year on food that they throw out. Where would you rather use this money?
