I can reduce my portion size in total
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Land Use
As you learn more about the scope and seriousness of the environmental challenges we face, what impact does that have on your thinking and actions? What are the parts that feel overwhelming? What parts help you feel hopeful?

    Zoe Saum 4/24/2018 9:55 AM
Its overwhelming how many poeple drive every day, even though it doesnt feel like much  of an impact.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

What concerns you the most about how we are affecting the planet? Consider both local and global actions.

    Zoe Saum 4/24/2018 9:39 AM
What concerns me most about how we are affecting the planet is how many animals are suffereing because of us, and how much trash we are creating.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Materials
How could you incorporate other "R's" -- reduce, reuse, refuse, repair, repurpose, etc. -- into your lifestyle?

    Zoe Saum's avatar
    Zoe Saum 4/24/2018 9:31 AM
My family is very into recycling, but we need to start with the first 'R'- reduce
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Materials
How do you address your own feelings of concern, fear or despair about climate change?

    Zoe Saum's avatar
    Zoe Saum 4/24/2018 9:28 AM
When I think about climate change, I tend to get very concerned. But with those feelings of concern I usually put myself to work in trying anything I can to make myself or other people more aware about climate change.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Electricity Generation
Geothermal energy is reliable, abundant, and efficient. Project Drawdown states that public investment will play a crucial role in its expansion. What kind of investment seems most feasible for you?

    Zoe Saum's avatar
    Zoe Saum 4/24/2018 9:24 AM
I think that geothermal energy is a great investment for any home. It is better for the enviornment and it eventually pays itself off.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

Changing lightbulbs is an excellent first step toward energy efficiency! What's next?

    Zoe Saum's avatar
    Zoe Saum 4/24/2018 9:22 AM
My family is genrally pretty aware of the impact that we have on the enviornment, so adding LED lightbulbs is something thats a no brainer.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Electricity Generation
Had you ever heard of biomass techonology before this? What did you learn that surprised you? Share this with your friends!

    Zoe Saum 4/24/2018 9:12 AM
I already knew about biomass before this because of my enviornmental science class aka the best class. I learned about mow much biomass can produce, which completly blew my mind!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

Had you heard of the term silvopasture" before now? After learning more about it, what do you think is the biggest advantage of silvopasture?

    Zoe Saum's avatar
    Zoe Saum 4/16/2018 9:21 AM
I had not heard about a silvopasture until now. Cows produce a lot of carbon, and by planting lots of trees in and around their pastures, it keeps the carbon emissions lower than they normally would be.
