    I have been even more conscious about recycling and have recycled more things due to this Eco Challenge.

    I just learned that 1/3 of the food raised or prepared food does not make it from farm or factory to fork.

    I started taking the commuter rail a few years ago for the first time. I love it. I am not only saving carbon emissions. I have and extra 2 hours a day to get organized for work or spend time knitting or reading.

    Members of our team toured a Wind Turbine Testing Center in Charleston today and learned that a large off-shore wind turbine generates up to 3 megawatts of electricity which is enough to power 600-700 households!

    Day 2 of the challenge I learned that you should not throw biodegradable food out your window as it draws animals to the street where they can get hit by cars.  #1 death rate for wild animals.  Thanks to The Center for Wildlife. Plus I met my first Porcupine - Henry - So cute!

    I am excited about the challenge.  I love the outdoors and nature and want to preserve it any way I can. I want the world to be a healthier place for my boys and their children.
