I am actually trying to avoid buying anything in single use plastic for a week even while traveling and I think it will be really hard.

I am getting ready to leave on a trip tomorrow and I am really proud of myself for eating up all the perishables in my fridge. It will mean that I will have a strange smoothie for breakfast tomorrow of carrot, clementines, ginger, and soy milk, but I blended it all up with some Stevie and mate powder and it tastes pretty good!

I have been vegan for 18 years (vegetarian 22 years) because of my love for and dedication to environmental protection. I know that this action alone is not enough to preserve the natural environment, but it's a big step. Every year, I give a handful of presentations about the environmental impacts of food choices to various groups from non-profits, to college/graduate courses, and at Earth Day and Veg festivals. This year, I will give this presentation at least 5 times! I hope to give the presentation at WSP as well (perhaps via webinar) and run a veg pledge. If you're interested in pledging to go veg for a week or need any information about the environmental impacts of different dietary choices, please feel free to reach out to me.

Thanks Narada!  Hopefully we can meet in person when I'm in the NYC office on April 27th - I'll tell you more about it. I've already got my eye on an acclaimed veg restaurant called Candle 79 for dinner that night. Anyone is welcome to join me! :)

I’m glad you joined the team Julie! There are a few other folks on our team who have already committed to trying a veg pledge of sorts for this Challenge. Sounds like you have lots of good tips and info to share. Also looking forward to hearing about your food waste and plastic actions and what you learn.
