REFLECTION QUESTIONMaterials Become A Master Recyler/ComposterWhat could you do differently to waste less?
-
REFLECTION QUESTIONMaterials Eliminate Toxic PlasticsWhat single-use items (e.g. straws, coffee cups, vegetable bags, plastic bags) do you regularly use? What could be substituted instead?
Steven Stawarz 4/25/2018 4:58 AMWe often use plastic zip-lock bags and are making efforts to use glass storage containers instead. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransport Research and Advocate for High-Speed RailWhat are the factors that influence your choice of transportation? These can include things like money, time, and convenience, as well as perceptions of danger or safety.
Steven Stawarz 4/25/2018 4:54 AMThe two biggest factors for most of my choices for transportation is arrival time at my destination and cost. This makes telecommuting a very good choice because I am at work immediately and it costs me nothing in transport costs. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONMaterials Share Bioplastic Disposal TipsWhat concerns you the most about how we are affecting the planet? Consider both local and global actions.
Steven Stawarz 4/24/2018 11:14 AMRenewable energy adoption is still too slow and not sufficiently economical. In particular, the payback period for residential solar in less temperate climates needs to improve alot. -

Steven Stawarz 4/17/2018 4:46 AMIn the suburbs where wood chips/debris are often used for mulch. From an ecological viewpoint, is this a better use of wood waste than biomass? I suppose the answer is 'It depends'. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Learn More about SilvopastureHad you heard of the term silvopasture" before now? After learning more about it, what do you think is the biggest advantage of silvopasture?
Steven Stawarz 4/16/2018 5:15 AMI was not familiar with the term. Enhanced soil protection seems to be the primary benefit with potential long-term economic benefits being secondary. -
Steven Stawarz 4/13/2018 6:47 AMInstead of a toilet bank, we are experimenting with using an old plastic water bottle. The concept is the same. Not sure it saves the same amount of water but it is a better place than a landfill for the bottle.
