Zach Stevens 4/16/2018 8:55 AMIt's been a few years since I've done an online energy audit so this was a good exercise. However I wasn't particularily impressed with the platform used and the recommendations generated. Does anyone has a preferred site for this?
I have previously looked at the utility data for our apartment and calculated a rough EUI of around 20 kBtu/sf. Which is pretty good for Seattle. The biggest thing I thing we could do to reduce water/energy consumption is the reduce DHW usage from showers and laundry. We try and wash with mostly coldwater, but my wife and I are both very active so we shower probably more than average. Something to work on!-

REFLECTION QUESTIONElectricity GenerationWhat inspires you to act on sustainable energy and other energy issues?
Zach Stevens 4/09/2018 9:43 AMI semi-regularly contact my elected officials regarding environmental/energy policy, but almost always with a push from various environmental organizations whose newsletters I subscribe to. Actually writing out a thoughtful email instead of pressing send on a pre-canned response from an online template was a worthwhile process for me, and hopefully it is received better as a result!
