what conserns me is the trash we leave behind and how we are ruining the enviroment and we need to change that.

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Land Use
As you learn more about the scope and seriousness of the environmental challenges we face, what impact does that have on your thinking and actions? What are the parts that feel overwhelming? What parts help you feel hopeful?

    Timothy Vasalakis's avatar
    Timothy Vasalakis 4/24/2018 5:57 AM
The impact on my thinking is that would should care more about our environment and help the forest

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food
Now that you know the difference between use by, sell by, and best by dates, how will you view expiration dates differently?

    Timothy Vasalakis's avatar
    Timothy Vasalakis 4/23/2018 6:57 AM
I will keep food past exp date and not waste so much food
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Land Use
How is your diet currently impacting deforestation? What can you do to decrease your negative impact and increase your positive impact?

    Timothy Vasalakis's avatar
    Timothy Vasalakis 4/23/2018 6:50 AM
Mine has a negative impact. I eat and drink a lot coffee and chocolate I also eat  bunch of meat, steak, hamburger, pot roast, etc. To decrease my impact is to change my diet and eat better foods with forest friendly labels.

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Electricity Generation
Geothermal energy is reliable, abundant, and efficient. Project Drawdown states that public investment will play a crucial role in its expansion. What kind of investment seems most feasible for you?

    Timothy Vasalakis 4/17/2018 6:03 AM
I've learned how passive geothermal heat pumps reduce energy demand for heating and cooling buildings It eliminates the need for air conditioning and uses a more natural way to cool and heat your house

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Electricity Generation
Had you ever heard of biomass techonology before this? What did you learn that surprised you? Share this with your friends!

I haven't heard of biomass technology and  think It's a cool idea. I’ve learned that you can create so much resources example  fire can make electricity
I’ve learned that energy storage grows and the grid becomes more flexible, it can help meet electricity demand, complementing variable wind and solar power.

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food
Had you heard of the term silvopasture" before now? After learning more about it, what do you think is the biggest advantage of silvopasture?

    Timothy Vasalakis's avatar
    Timothy Vasalakis 4/13/2018 6:17 AM
I think that the biggest advantage is that we are saving money and helping livestock and farmers.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Electricity Generation
What did you learn about wave and tidal energy? Were you surprised by the information you found?

    Timothy Vasalakis's avatar
    Timothy Vasalakis 4/12/2018 6:07 AM
For centuries, mankind has exploited this massive energy source. In the recent years, we have learnt how to generate electricity from it. 450 TWh is the estimated yearly potential of electric power that can be produced from tidal energy. In addition to this comes a large and not yet estimated potential in river flows.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
