I have not been as good as I should have been with daily posts. I have had more conversations 2ith friends about recycling since this started. Another friend and I are experimenting with different types of, don’t laugh, cat litter disposal bags. Plastic grocery bags - not good!

I have shared information about recycling with many of my friends and have been surprised by the conversations that followed.  Many did not know how to recycle anything but what Rumpke collects and we talked about how I do this.  After reminiscing about our first Earth Day as hippies, they all promised to start recyling more items at local grocery store dropoffs.

Judi...that's great.  I keep learning more everyday, too. Thanks for the tip about Meijer's.

There are quite a few options at Meijer for recycled products.  I was surprised!

I am getting a slow start but tomorrow I am going grocery shopping.  My goal is to get recyclable products for all my paper needs.

What concerns you the most about how we are affecting the planet? Consider both local and global actions.

I am very concerned about actions being taken now to roll back requirements on clean energy, use of our national parks for oil drilling and fracking, the loss of our polar regions etc. etc.
We seem to have lost sight of our responsibility from God to take care of our planet and all the things that live on it.
All the work that has been done since that first Earth Day seems to be disappearing from our national conversation and even eliminated or hidden from view on national websites.
Luckily there are cities, companies, organizations (such as this) around the world that are continuing the work started back then.  I need to find ways to support them through advocacy and my actions.

Judi,  Well said. It's hard to watch these attempted rollbacks by our current administration.  Some of the have been challenged in court.  Your advocacy makes a difference.  We're on this journey together.

I already use recycled paper for my work projects but need to do a great deal more research on this.  When I find good resources I will share them on my Facebook page.

What are other easy and low-cost ways to reduce your water usage at home?

I have tried to reduce the number of loads of laundry I do each week.  Although I have a"high efficiency" washer I have not seen a reduction in my water bill each month.

I have decided to look into waste recycling of items not collected by Rumpke in Warren County.  I will share what I find on the Next Door with my neighbors and friends.

I am interested in seeing how "just doing the little things" will help and teach me more about what I can do to help the environment.  It seems I started this journey with the first Earth Day back in college.....
