#3 Reduced Food Waste
I will keep a daily log of food I throw away during the EcoChallenge, either because it went bad before I ate it, I put too much on my plate, or it was scraps from food preparation.

jennifer villa-hernandez 4/19/2018 3:04 PMI've been saving my leftovers. I used to always throw them out. Not only does is save money but also saved me time from cooking again. -
jennifer villa-hernandez 4/15/2018 11:57 AMToday I recycled the cans and bottles from home before going into the grocery store. Not only was I able to recycle them, but I also got a few extra dollars from it. Only took about 15mins out of my day. -
jennifer villa-hernandez 4/12/2018 11:39 AMAt my job we don't recycle which I understand can be hard because we're such a huge company. In the break room I've noticed the trash can just overflow with trash and that's probably because we don't recycle. A coworker of mine and myself have thought about putting a paper bag next to the trash for cans. Even though the company doesn't recycle someone else could take them and get money back for the cans. We haven't discussed it with the HR manager but will be doing so when she's back from her vacation. Hopefully there isn't an issue with it. -
jennifer villa-hernandez 4/11/2018 12:50 PMLately I've noticed my roommates throwing out pizza boxes with the trash, so this morning I went through the trash and took out all the cardboard. The trash went down and I was able to recycle the cardboard.
