ONE-TIME ACTION

Food

Support Local Food Systems

#4 Plant-Rich Diet

I will source 1 meal(s) from local producers each day. This could include signing up for a local CSA, buying from a farmer's market, visiting a food co-op, foraging with a local group, or growing my own ingredients.

DAILY ACTION

Participant Feed

Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.

To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food
Dependable fresh food, supporting local farmers and building resilient communities are just a few benefits of local food systems. Which of these advantages inspire you the most?

Being able to have a positive microeconomic impact on the livelihood of local farmers in Houston really inspires me. Also, knowing I could play a small part in creating a sustainable and green environment by eating non- processed foods that dont generate massive amounts of waste.. Then on a more personal level.. Its comforting knowing I could be filling my body with only naturally grown healthy foods.

Well said!  I agree, it is great to start by focusing on what motivates you, and use that to continue learning and growing along the way 🙂
