Amma Yamada 4/25/2018 9:35 AMTo reduce I can eliminate the amount of paper towels I use when washing my hands. To reuse I can bring to-go containers with me to restaurant so I do not have to use the restaurants containers. To refuse I can hold back on getting Styrofoam when getting a drink or getting food. To repair I can fix plastic containers that I brake so I do not have to by more. To repurpose I can use old to-go containers for my lunch so I do not have to use plastic bags. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFoodProducing uneaten food squanders many resources—seeds, water, energy, land, fertilizer, hours of labor, financial capital. Which of these motivates you the most to change your behavior regarding food waste?
Amma Yamada 4/25/2018 9:25 AMI want to help eliminate food waste because of the impact uneaten food has on water. I think by damaging the water by wasting food does not only impact all people around the world, but also all of the animals. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFoodFun fact: Your brain and stomach register feelings of fullness after about 20 minutes of eating. While dishing food out, we tend to load our plates with more than we need. Using smaller plates helps to mitigate this. Aside from the environmental benefits, what other benefits might come out of this?
Amma Yamada 4/25/2018 9:17 AMServing ourselves less food on our plate will help eliminate the amount of food waste we have, but it will help people financially because they will not have to purchase as much food. -

Amma Yamada 4/25/2018 9:11 AMWave and tidal energy can supply at least 10% of the world's energy consumption. I was surprised that this form of energy had this much impact.
