April 25 at 7:23 AMI think we have had an issue with feeling that we have the right to do what we want to do. We consume things because it is there. Instant gratification is the norm. I am hopeful that we will start looking more to the future and the long range benefits to eating more simply, living more simply. I know I personally have a long way to go but...

I usually cook for just myself, but I am still proud that as I keep track of my food waste during this challenge, it isn't food...

April 9 at 12:32 PMExpiration dates are there to save food companies from getting in trouble (and are often arbitrary). Since I eat only plant foods, and mostly whole produce, anyway - I can trust my own senses to know when my food has gone bad.

April 9 at 12:29 PMReducing food waste is financially helpful as well as environmentally. Starting with smaller portions helps you slow down, enjoy your meal, and not overeat - making you a happier and healthier consumer
