Educating girls affords them opportunities and options in their life. They have a chance for a better future which often translates to fewer children. Too many people leads to increased greenhouse gas emissions in a variety of ways so reducing birthrates helps the the planet.

I try to not waste food - the challenge in my family is my picky daughter. She often doesn't finish eating her food but since I'm vegetarian and she's not, I end up tossing her uneaten food in the compost bin. Even so, I feel bad about it.
