So many reasons to care about taking action on climate change but my main motivation stems from the current administration—if they are moving backward to support fossil fuels then we must ban together & push forward with renewable energy.

    - I am becoming more aware of the good things I'm already doing. While the amount information on this topic can be very overwhelming, I feel like I can kick back the chair a bit and relax.

Using human-powered transportation, cycling, is something I have always done. It being spring after a long winter I realize how much better I feel, on so many fronts,  when I am outside biking to work. My body feels better and I generally am in far better spirits when I can use my legs to get places.

I was struck by the following statistic regarding family planning:
"It is estimated that if all unplanned, unwanted births in the developing world were avoided, the rate of population growth would decline by about 30%.”

I’m a bacteriaphobe when it comes to the fridge but I will no longer toss food automatically based on the date—it’s OK if I’ve missed consuming it by its “peak freshness” date. Turns out when my mom would tell me, “it’s not going to kill you” she was right!

    - Friend had a conversation about this with one of university's lecturers. As it turns out for a single family residential house the upfront investment in geothermal will hardly pay off during lifetime. So I would say that public domain seems the most feasible option and would eventually increase the number of implications in private and commercial sectors.

Reflection question: Had you ever heard of biomass techonology before this? What did you learn that surprised you? Share this with your friends!

    - Had heard before, more like confirmed what I already knew. Back in Latvia many multi storey residential houses, including where I lived, are heated using wood pellets. The resource is widely available and one of the cheapest options compared to what's available.
