No.  The biggest advantage is that is provides the farmer with diversified income.  It is more profitable than traditional grass management systems and the animals are healthier too.

The Silvopasture people could benefit from Permaculture design principles.  I think they could reduce their inputs during the establishment phase.

    Food composting
Producing uneaten food squanders many resources—seeds, water, energy, land, fertilizer, hours of labor, financial capital. Which of these motivates you the most to change your behavior regarding food waste?

In nature there is no such thing as waste.  Waste is a man-made invention.  Composting food waste is an excellent way to recycle the nutrients that would be lost in a landfill.  However, if you have access to chickens, feeding food scraps to them is even better than composting because it offsets chicken feed with its associated costs and production inputs.

    Food Smaller Portions
Fun fact: Your brain and stomach register feelings of fullness after about 20 minutes of eating. While dishing food out, we tend to load our plates with more than we need. Using smaller plates helps to mitigate this. Aside from the environmental benefits, what other benefits might come out of this?
