    a CSA; better quality/more locally sourced food - food with a smaller carbon footprint, yet the reason I don't participate in a CSA anymore is precisely due to the amount of  food that went to waste! I find I need to purchase food when I am ready to cook it - cooking when I have food has not worked for me in the past.
