    All of us need to look for small ways to make a difference, to start.   Our buying power can  influence bigger business - that's out voice on a larger scale.

    If we all challenge ourselves to check our cupboards, freezer and fridge to see what we can put together to make a meal.  What do we have on hand that we can use before we have to toss it.

    I had known that a plant based diet was preferable for the environment. It should have been obvious, but I didn't really think about the impact of wasting food.  I thought of it in terms of wasting money.  But I see the bigger connection.

    Eating smaller portions coupled with lengthening the amount of time from the last meal/snack of my day and the last meal / snack in the morning.  I've read this allows time for your body to recover - one of the major points for sleeping.  .

    I could have eaten two pieces of pizza, but I resisted and ate only one piece.

    Fun fact: Your brain and stomach register feelings of fullness after about 20 minutes of eating. While dishing food out, we tend to load our plates with more than we need. Using smaller plates helps to mitigate this. Aside from the environmental benefits, what other benefits might come out of this?
