Finally took the bicycle for errands today (plus a little hill-climb workout). No better way to take in the blossoms on an 80-degree day. Maybe April's not "the cruelest month" after all....

Avoided motor vehicles today. Ate one meal locally grown. Got some sun, while getting my hands dirty (& green) out in the yard -- and helped plant a native tree.
    Happy Earth Day!

OK! (News of Eugene, OR discontinuing curbside plastic collection is a short-term setback. But long term, it could push us to make Cascadia's  & America's materials use more sustainable!)

Yes, recycling is not enough, without reduce/re-use/re-purpose.
But small victory this week: Found PDX-area recycle venues still processing PLASTIC bags! (Lowes, & Fred Meyers)
Also, see the Green Living journal (Spring 2018), FREE at PDX area news stands, for some credible news on 'RECYCLING Rides the Storm'.

Alright! Looking for any way I can ameliorate the disaster of this 'Plastic-pocalyse' that seems to have gripped the West Coast.
(I'm talking about the disappearance of plastic recycling options in PDX-&-beyond, partly from China's redirection of their waste-recycle stream!)
Anybody else have stories of recent upheaval in their household waste/recycle-management regimen?  (I'm currently stockpiling in my basement what I had been recycling prior to 2018.)
