REFLECTION QUESTIONMaterials Properly Dispose of RefrigerantsHow do you address your own feelings of concern, fear or despair about climate change?
Chris Harasta 4/19/2018 5:42 PMIt's good to know that proper refrigerant disposal is readily available -
Chris Harasta 4/17/2018 8:56 PMChallenge going well! Signed up for my company sustainability networking group today -
REFLECTION QUESTIONBuildings and Cities Express My SupportWhat do you like most about biking in your city? What would you like to improve?
Chris Harasta 4/16/2018 4:49 PMI have reached out to officials in my county as well as my neighboring county expressing my support of a proposed bike trail project. It is currently in the planning phase. I focused on both the tourism boost it would create as well as how I would use it to reduce my carbon footprint by biking to work. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONLand Use Local Perennial BiomassClimate scientist Katharine Hayhoe states that "The reason we care about climate change is because it affects the people and places that we care about." What is happening (or will happen) in your area that will affect the people and places you care about?
Chris Harasta 4/16/2018 4:16 PMApparently there was a perennial biomass project in my county. They were studying different types of grass for the best results, working with the state cooperative extension. However, there is no news of them past 2012. They just sort of disappeared. -
Chris Harasta 4/15/2018 11:12 AMI ate meat the other day, for the first time in about a month. I really thought I would enjoy it a lot more, like it was a special treat. I didn't though. It was rather "meh". -
REFLECTION QUESTIONBuildings and Cities Research Retrofitting IncentivesHow can you share what you have learned in your research with others?
Chris Harasta 4/15/2018 11:11 AMMy research into Green Retrofitting brought me to this page: http://www.dsireusa.org/
It shows links to all of the different state incentive programs in the US! -
Chris Harasta 4/14/2018 6:49 AMShoot... I forgot to check in yesterday. I even went out of my way to complete a bunch of daily challenges. :( -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Learn More about SilvopastureHad you heard of the term silvopasture" before now? After learning more about it, what do you think is the biggest advantage of silvopasture?
Chris Harasta 4/14/2018 6:49 AMThe potential benefits of silvopasture are impressive. We spend so much time and resources fighting against the land when it's often more effective to work with it. -
Chris Harasta 4/12/2018 6:15 PMI have had no luck eating local meals. This summer should be easy, as I have signed up for a farm share. Most of my meals are made and consumed at work. I will have to work on bringing more local options into my workplace!
