My local library has a resource called GREENR which has tons of articles regarding different energy saving and environmental issues. "According to an August 1, 2016 article in the journal Geographical, implementing green rooftops across the city of Chicago could drop the peak summer temperatures in the city by as many as 7 degrees Fahrenheit!" was one of the coolest factoids I found that could really help save energy and channel it instead of letting it just burn up in the atmosphere!
