Kat Kordon 4/25/2018 4:21 PMKeeping our food waste journal was very eye opening. We noticed an increased awareness while shopping for food, how much we were preparing and putting on our plate, and making the most out of leftovers. The daily tracking definitely increased our awareness about how we prepare and consume food. -
Kat Kordon 4/25/2018 4:09 PMThe videos we watched on the Silvopasture gardening technique were very interesting. The examples from the videos we watched were mainly from the East Coast. I'd be interested to know if there is anyone practicing this technique in Oregon. -
Kat Kordon 4/10/2018 12:32 PMWe started logging our food waste last week. We are doing good so far. However, we cook a lot more on the weekends, so it will be interesting to see how well we do with our leftovers this week. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Keep Track of Wasted FoodAn average American throws out about 240 lbs of food per year. The average family of four spends $1,500 a year on food that they throw out. Where would you rather use this money?
Kat Kordon 4/03/2018 2:19 PMI would much rather use this money spending quality time with my family, traveling, hiking, gardening, etc. I am looking forward to learning from this challenge.
