  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food composting
Producing uneaten food squanders many resources—seeds, water, energy, land, fertilizer, hours of labor, financial capital. Which of these motivates you the most to change your behavior regarding food waste?

All of these factors inspire me to be better about food waste. The factor that maybe motivates me the most is the land used as well as the energy and the emissions from wasted food.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Reduce Animal Products
What do you think contributes to people in North America eating more meat than other countries, and what does this say about North American values and ways of living? How do we start shifting a meat-focused food culture?

As a result of the affluence of our country compared to many others, we have developed a more meat based culture.  This reflects our way of living where we have so much available to us, and we don't really use it sustainably or wisely.  We can shift our meat based culture by recognizing that we don't need meat for every meal, and make havin meat more of a special occasion.
