  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Electricity Generation Learn More about Micro Wind
Micro turbines can be placed on large structures to take advantage of stronger, steadier breezes. The Eiffel Tower now sports vertical axis turbines that produce electricity for use on site. Where could micro turbines potentially be installed in your city?

In Portland there is a plan on building skyscrapers and other high altitude buildings, potentially installing micro turbines on these buildings could be beneficial. Also maybe in universities and how some campuses are looking to be sustainable and use renewable energy.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Transport Try Carpooling
Take a moment to think of places you frequent often (work, grocery store, natural areas). Could you choose one or two days a week to schedule driving with a friend, neighbor or co-worker to these places?

In this last month I have been carpooling with friends to either meetings or events or even to hangout at parks.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Food Keep Track of Wasted Food
An average American throws out about 240 lbs of food per year. The average family of four spends $1,500 a year on food that they throw out. Where would you rather use this money?

I would either try to save this money and invest it in something or use it towards my favorite social justice organization
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food composting
Producing uneaten food squanders many resources—seeds, water, energy, land, fertilizer, hours of labor, financial capital. Which of these motivates you the most to change your behavior regarding food waste?

Water, energy, hours of labor, and land are probably the most to motivate me to change my behavior on food waste.
