REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Learn the Truth About Expiration DatesNow that you know the difference between use by, sell by, and best by dates, how will you view expiration dates differently?
Annie Sanna 4/20/2018 8:51 AMI will take time to review the use by, sell by, and best by dates to make sure I'm not hastily throwing away good food. A lot of these dates are suggestions. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Keep Track of Wasted FoodAn average American throws out about 240 lbs of food per year. The average family of four spends $1,500 a year on food that they throw out. Where would you rather use this money?
Annie Sanna 4/05/2018 7:28 AMI usually try to take my leftovers to go when I eat at a restaurant - making 1 meal into 2 - since most places give out such large portions. One thing I need to work on is bringing my own container instead of using styrofoam togo containers. Another thing is not buying perishable food without having a meal plan.-
Missy Lucas 4/25/2018 12:54 PMI totally agree! I'm working on getting into the habit of bringing my own container too. Sometimes I bring a small container that fits in my purse/bag, though it surprises people when I seemingly pull it out from nowhere at the end of the meal. But hey, no food waste + extra meal for no extra cost 😁
