Celeste Tolbert 4/25/2018 5:26 PMIt is with gratitude that I write this final post. We have all that we need provided on this earth. And there is a beauty here that makes your soul radiate joy. I hope to continue reducing my waste, composte more, rarely waste food, reduce energy and I hope to someday research adding solar. In other words, the door is open to seeking ways to care for creation continuously. And a group of us are working to influence our congregation in a positive manner. Great educational event. Thanks! -
Celeste Tolbert 4/24/2018 5:03 PMI am so excited! When we moved here three years ago, we lost the ability to compost. With bears walking through our yard, we were confident an open compost system was not good. For three years I struggled with putting the inedible veggie parts in the trash. We endeavor to have minimal trash. Tonight we went out and purchased an enclosed compost bin. It is so awesome to make this change! Drawdown was influential in nudging me to find a solution. Woot woot. -
Celeste Tolbert 4/21/2018 6:47 PMI spent considerable time today researching and pondering creation care as I prepared a short talk. It is amazing to think that we turned toward cleaning up nearly 50 years ago. That was a very important turning point. It is good to remember and it adds hope to the horizon. -
Celeste Tolbert 4/20/2018 3:29 PMAll these little actions will ripple and have an impact. Sometimes we do not think that we make a difference. But I look at this one event where so many people are doing many small things that blossom into beautiful change. -
Celeste Tolbert 4/18/2018 6:48 PMToday was a very hard day to not choose meat. I love vegetables more than the average person, but I really, badly wanted just a little meat. I was having lunch out with my sister and the choices for vegetarian were not good. They were very light, low calorie items. I was also hungry. However, I chose to fight against my momentary weakness and I stuck with the vegetables. Usually this is not hard, but today was. I am grateful I can make a choice. -
Celeste Tolbert 4/17/2018 7:54 PMI am grateful for daily food. All my food is available because of climate conditions that are favorable to grow it and people who work hard to harvest, market and sell it. It is a miracle to have such an abundance of food choices. Grateful. -
Celeste Tolbert 4/14/2018 2:23 PMSimplicity and fasting are spiritual disciplines. It occurred to me that I can fast from wasting food, not only now, but in the future. (How else am I going to make it a permanent habit?) I am contemplating fasting from something different each week—which will mean rotating between different things. I am excited at the prospect of this opportunity to integrate what I am learning during Drawdown into my daily life in the upcoming months. In all honesty, one should not share the details of their fasting, but this did seem appropriate. -
Celeste Tolbert 4/08/2018 5:54 PMAlthough this is a short opportunity to look at our daily habits and way of living, it is creating fertile ground for change and also for recognition of what is important. (“Motivation is what gets you started. Habit is what keeps you going.” ~ Jim Rohn)-
Jim Tolbert 4/10/2018 11:32 AMGlad to be looking at these habits with you!

Celeste Tolbert 4/06/2018 4:46 PMThis is easy the first day, but then it gets harder as the days progress.
