Women and Girls
Connect With A Nonprofit
#6 Educating Girls, #7 Family Planning, #62 Women Smallholders
I will connect with a local nonprofit working on womens' or girls' issues in my community, and find out how I can get involved or become a member.
Food
Keep Track of Wasted Food
#3 Reduced Food Waste
I will keep a daily log of food I throw away during the EcoChallenge, either because it went bad before I ate it, I put too much on my plate, or it was scraps from food preparation.
Women and Girls
Help Girls Overcome Health Barriers
#6 Educating Girls
I will donate one or more Femme Kits to help girls overcome health and sanitation barriers to being able to attend school.
Participant Feed

Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.
To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

Cara Uy-Segal 4/12/2018 5:00 PMFor the past few days, I have been in group settings where I feel more responsibility over leftover food! I think it has helped to bring extra containers to share with others...this particular challenge has me devising ways to reduce the length of my foodwaste log! -
Cara Uy-Segal 4/05/2018 9:25 AMWhat is considered food waste? Here's an example scenario: If I have a mold-y lemon and choose to use the pulp and juice to clean my kitchen sink, is it still considered wasted food because I didn't eat/consume it? -
Cara Uy-Segal 4/05/2018 9:19 AMI emailed Linda Alepin, a professor at SCU who is the co-founder of the Global Women's Leadership Network. GWLN is now a part of How Women Lead and I'll be following up with a new contact! -
Cara Uy-Segal 4/05/2018 9:18 AMI started a log in my planner! I hope the list of wasted food doesn't get long! It's motivating me to really plan ahead and keep a strict inventory of what's in my fridge and pantry...Since I'm going away for the weekend, I brought food to share in my workplace because I don't want the food to go bad!
