  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Reduce Animal Products
What do you think contributes to people in North America eating more meat than other countries, and what does this say about North American values and ways of living? How do we start shifting a meat-focused food culture?

From an animal welfare perspective, I think there is a disconnect between what consumers see on the grocery store shelves and what the actual process of getting the meat involves.    If consumers had to tour a factory farm, or a slaughterhouse, I believe they would see eating meat differently.     I wish there was more exposure and education to the REAL picture.

There is a definite disconnect. You and I both know as we have had conversations about vegetarianism with individuals who eat meat. Many people are not educated on this topic and it could change a lot of minds if people were.
