  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food
What do you think contributes to people in North America eating more meat than other countries, and what does this say about North American values and ways of living? How do we start shifting a meat-focused food culture?

I think eating meat is very engrained in our culture. From living on a farm of livestock, to having that image today of farm “ruggedness” and barbecuing. We have a disconnect with our food; many people do not think twice about where it comes from. We can start shifting away from a meat-based food culture by educating the public and our children on CAFOs and other malpractices, as well as share healthy, affordable alternatives.

It feels good to plan out my meals and know that I will be getting lots of nutrients through vegan or vegetarian options.
