REFLECTION QUESTIONLand UseHow is your diet currently impacting deforestation? What can you do to decrease your negative impact and increase your positive impact?
Madeline Winans 4/05/2018 1:05 PMThe coffee I make at my house is not certified by the Rainforest Alliance. I want to find a brand that has less of a negative impact on the environment, but I also want to support a Fair Trade Certified brand. I haven't yet been able to find a brand that has both certifications, but I'm still looking! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportHow do your transportation choices affect your engagement in your community? Does your experience differ while walking, riding transit, biking or driving?
Madeline Winans 4/05/2018 12:55 PMWalking, riding public transportation, and driving, (the three means of transport I typically use) all provide varied types of community engagement for me. When walking, I feel most engaged with my surroundings, and I am more likely to pay more attention to the community around me and have a greater appreciation for it. Public transportation sometimes allows for engagement with my fellow community members, but driving offers very limited options for this type of engagement with my surroundings. I would say from this perspective, walking is the most rewarding means of transport.
