This has been a great challenge! I hope everyone on our team enjoyed participating and learned something. I know I did. I just wish I had more time to work on the challenges I chose as well as those I didn't. I guess that's why the phrase Earth Day is Every Day resonates so much right now.

After attending the Climate Summit hosted by St. Louis University earlier this week, I was reminded of how important energy efficiency and renewable energy - including wind energy - are to reducing our climate impact. I took a few minutes yesterday to write to my US Senators and my state Senator encouraging them to support clean, renewable energy solutions.

I attended the SLACO Neighborhoods Conference this weekend and sat in on a session about new new Bike Sharing program launching in St. Louis on Monday, April 16. I'm excited about this new transportation option in St. Louis that will encourage less fossil fuel powered transportation, but also make it easier to connect neighborhoods and people with transit. It's pretty reasonably priced too! http://www.stlbikeshare.org

I've been keeping track of my food waste since the start of the Challenge. Doing pretty good so far - mostly thanks to my existing compost bin! I've noticed that when eating out, I have more food left on my plate then when I cook at home and control the portions.

Finally chose my challenges for the next few weeks! Looking forward to digging in further. So far, I've composted all my food scraps today, so no food waste to report on my food waste log :)
