Great to be involved in this challenge.  Want to continue to learn more about how supporting women around the world is a benefit to our planet.  Enjoyed only eating one meal with meat each day!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Transport Research and Consider Switching to a Hybrid or Electric Vehicle
Reducing (or eliminating) exhaust emissions and improving public health are two benefits of green vehicles. What other motivators inspire you to consider switching to a more fuel-efficient vehicle?

It was interesting to find out that electric vehicles were developed first, but manufacturers changed over to gasoline fuel vehicles as recommended by the fuel companies.  At this time we have the ability to make choices and have more information available to us regarding making these choices.  My concern has always been an electric vehicle will need to be charged and how long it will run until it needs to be recharged.  It is good to find that charging stations are available in areas where I travel, some cars remain charged for 240 miles, and carbon emissions are reduced by 50% when charged from grid electricity and by 95% when charged from solar.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Land Use Forest-Friendly Foods 1
How is your diet currently impacting deforestation? What can you do to decrease your negative impact and increase your positive impact?

Love the smell of coffee, but not the taste . . . and any chocolate I will be eating will be grown in a rain-forest!  Have the list of products with palm oil products in them, will stay away from certain products, contacting companies that produce products I consume regularly (chocolate again) to see if they can use palm oil alternatives.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Reduce Animal Products
What do you think contributes to people in North America eating more meat than other countries, and what does this say about North American values and ways of living? How do we start shifting a meat-focused food culture?

I think our ancestry has a lot to do with this.  I am of European decent and supposedly my ancestry also includes Native American Heritage.  From my understanding both cultures ate meat.   My goal is to only eat one meal a day with meat, which I assume my may have been similar to my ancestors' diet, since our availability of meat has become more of a factory process than a hunting action.
