Personal costs - it just makes sense to reduce operating costs of a vehicle, especially considering how rapidly gasoline prices can change as they have in the past.

Refuse & reuse - we are trying to drastically reduce the number of plastic bags we collect by always carrying reusable tote bags when we go out.

Walking increases the chance of interacting with others in the local community. I live in a small town and there is a high likelihood I will see a familiar face if I walk on my errands through the downtown area.

This is so true! Isn't walking exactly what our bodies are designed to do? Our bodies and brains benefit from walking; thank you for pointing out that it benefits our communities too!
